Bad Thistles

Looking through a camera lense really focuses the eye and the mind - and even influences the belief system.
Come to think of it, I guess that is what art does in general.

I love my little poppy photo with the little bug staring back at me...a bug I never would have noticed if I had not been taking that photo.  I love close up shots of flowers and of everything.  The details and colors are amazing.
As to my belief system...well, thistles were not something to be admired while growing up on a farm.  They were bad, bad weeds that needed to be hacked down.  On a tilled piece of property, I still retain that belief. They gooble up the rest of the vegetation...and boy, do they have sharp thorns.

But on the side of the road at sunset, a blooming thistle can be admired...at least for just that moment.
